Guffey's interest in building began at the early age of five while watching his father build cabinets. In 1978, after working for his uncles for two years, Guffey decided that he had learned enough about the industry to begin framing houses on his own. While framing houses, Guffey's interest in the building industry grew, and he received his contractor's license in 1984.

Since receiving his license, Guffey has been unmatched in his desire for quality and attention to detail, and is most satisfied by providing families with homes that suit their needs and budgets.
